2 April 1886 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Friday. 2nd April [April 1886]. I went out at 11 to Langham House & Mama & I drove in a cab in search of an old tea set wh we did not find. At [illegible word] & Saxby’s I broke a piece of china & had to pay for it– To the Kitchen & then home to lunch. Drove with Henry, enquired after Lady Monkswell & find she is not expected to recover. Left Henry at Mme Reyntiens to pay a visit & I went on to Prince’s Gardens & had tea with Lady Bagot. We dined with Connie & Charlie & met Col. & Mrs Slade & Mrs Ellis (We took the latter to dinner there in our carriage as she lives in Portland Place) & Mr Froude.
