4 April 1886 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Sunday. 4th April [1886]. I went to church & heard Mr Haweis preach. In the afternoon after lunch alone (Henry having gone out) I went in a hansom to see Lady Burdett Coutts; found her at home—then on to Arthur who was also in & Col. R. Thynne sitting with him– Then to see Lady Stanhope & had a long talk with her—then on to Lady Tavistock & found her & Rachel Gurney at home. I had tea there & then went home. Count Hatzfeldt came to dine & brought his little girl called “Baby” to introduce to us. She is abt 15. Mme Reyntiens dined & Nela Du Cane– Mme R. sang in the eveng & we played a good game of dominoes.
