29 April 1886 — Bere Cottage, Bere Regis, Dorset
Thursday. 29th April [1886]. Breakfast at 9.30. Very cold—& there were only 2 degrees above freezing in the night. Wet morng. It cleared later & we strolled down the village with Monty & into the church. Susan Hambro drove over from Milton to lunch with us. We had a great discussion as to whether we would all go to Norway together this summer & it was finally decided against it as Henry prefers going to Venice. Henry & [I] drove to Wareham & went to town by 5.15 train arriving there at 10.30—& had tea & went to bed.
