3 June 1886 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Thursday. 3rd June [1886]. I went out walking. Went to see Lady Thompson to bid her good bye. After lunch Henry & I went to Thomson’s Hotel in Cav. Sqr to call on Mrs Frith & then home again where we found Maria waiting & drove all together. Left Henry at Lady Airlies & thence Maria & I went to call on a Lady Rose who has very pretty ferneries– She was not at home but we went in to see them– Then to call on Mrs Bagot who gave us tea—then to the “Female Welfare” Concert at the Westr Palace Hotel. The Spectre’s Bride by Miss Holland’s choir was going on—very trying– We only stayed 20 minutes & took a hansom home. Went to see Mama before dinner. We dined with Mr & Miss Clark, met Aunt Mary Huntly, Lord Cawdor & Ly Evelyn Campbell, Mrs Fletcher of Saltoun & 2 daughters, Prof. Bonamy Price & Mrs Thornhill & young Mr Silinger.
