25 June 1886 — Syltebo, Romsdalsfjord
Friday. 25th June [1886]. I went down to fish off the bridge before breakfast & Henry to Gredhus neither of us caught anything. Afterwards Fred & I went for a walk in search of plants. We went across the bridge at Syltebo’s through the wood to the other bridge, across it & back by the upper old bridge. Fred got so tired by the walk that at Friswold I took him to a cottage & asked for a glass of milk for him. The woman of the house showed us into a clean large guest room & there we rested & had excellent milk for wh she refused payment. We gave some öre to her children. The weather changed & from being very hot it became cold & rainy, but cleared again towards evening. After dinner Henry, Edgar & I went in 2 carrioles to the Lake. John took me fishing at Haande Pool & I got 2 2 lb. trout. Edgar & I went on the lake & I got a ½ lb. char & Edgar several larger. Henry left early & went to fish at Bjornes. E & I remained on & got home abt 12. Henry did not come in till 1. I was in bed. Fred fished from Friswold & saw nothing.
