24 June 1886 — Syltebo, Romsdalsfjord | |
Thursday. 24th [June 1886]. Got up by 8 to go & fish—but it rained so I gave it up. After breakfast Henry went to try at Gredhus & I to the bridge. I rose a salmon twice but did not get him & gave it up & came in to lunch at one. Played cribbage with Henry & had a lesson in piquet from Edgar. Dined at 4.30. I went to fish from the bridge at 7. Then to Gredhus & down the river, saw 3 fish jump & only caught a small trout at Syltebo’s rest—came in at 11. Fred & Edgar went to the Fjord & only brought 3 scythe home. Henry had 3 rises, lost a fish & got nothing— | |
