4 August 1886 — Syltebo, Romsdalsfjord
Wednesday. 4th [August 1886]. A dull cloudy day. Did accounts & wrote letters. After supper I went down to the Bank with John nothing. Then Henry came to Lower Gredhus while I sat on the bank & sketched till driven in by rain. Fred went to Friswold & Edgar to lake—he got 2 tiny trout & Fred got nothing nor Henry either. Had tea & played cribbage with Henry, helped Fred to make a new design for carving. Dinner at 8. I went with Thorwald & caught 6 lb. trout—bridge nothing. Henry L. Gredhus also got 5 lb. trout. Tea at 11 & bed– Post in morng brought nothing. Evening steamer brought letters & papers.
