28 August 1886 — Christiania (Oslo) | |
Saturday. 28th [August 1886]. at 12 in the day. Consul Genl Mitchell met us & we found from him that a steamer was starting for Hamburg at 3 so we went to secure places & then to the Hotel to lunch. I took a walk with Mr Mitchell & we went on board the “King Ring” at 2.30. We found that man & wife on board Norwegian steamers pay 1 place & ½. It was very calm at starting. I dined at table. Played cribbage & went to my berth early. | |
