13 September 1886 — La Punta, Longarone | |
Monday. 13th September [1886]. Packed before breakfast. At 10 Henry & I started in Malcolms landeau to drive to Vittorio & return to Venice. We got there at 1, went to the Vittorio Inn & lunched & went on to Venice arriving at 5.30. Very hot journey. Great complaints of want of rain there having been none for a month in the plains. We took a row after our 7 o’cl dinner & met the Edens taking the air in their gondola– Summer heat. | |
