14 September 1886 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 14th [September 1886]. Busy day unpacking & putting house straight. Took a row in afternoon– Heat very great. Went out in launch with Edens & dined out towards the Lido. We began dinner just before moon rose & it being very dark Carry poured the cold coffee by mistake over the salad! which caused great mirth. We had a lovely steam back to Venice in the full moonlight & got a little cool air. | |
