9 October 1886 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 9th [October 1886]. Went to Gallery to copy. Darkish day. Mrs Burr was not there. Mr Colnaghi fetched me home. Sir Donald Samuelson a rich iron master & his daughter lunched with us & Henry accompanied them to antiquity shops afterwards. Mrs Burr came after lunch. Later Henry fetched me & the Colnaghis & took us out for a row. After dinner they went out again. I stayed in & wrote letters. | |
