25 November 1886 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 25th [November 1886]. Splendid weather. Went to Gallery to paint. After lunch went out with Henry. We walked on the Zattere & also went to the Ridotto to see an exhibition of artistic products to be sold for the benefit of the artists. Went to Dorigo’s to look out for a stone balcony & missing our gondola had to walk home. Ersilia & Maria Cozzi came to tea & also a naval officer called Richeri & Sr Trombini the pianist. Played patience after dinner. Had a telegram to say Alice Murray’s son born today.
