2 December 1886 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 2nd [December 1886]. Edith Bronson came to the guitar lesson at 11.30 & she stayed to luncheon. Mrs Brown came to call at 2 & brought Mr Bosanquet here to introduce him as I want him to read the service here on Sundays wh he is willing to do. I went out at 3 with Edith. We called at Mme de Hurtado’s to enquire but were not admitted. I took Edith home & saw Mrs Bronson & invited her here on Sundays to the service. Fetched Henry at the Sta. & went with him to call on the Edens & had tea there. Came home & wrote letters. Dined with Mrs Bronson & met Olga Mocenigo, Mr Brown & his 2 friends Mr Strachey & Mr Mallet. In the evening Sigr Trombini went there & played old music on a spinet Mrs Bronson has bought. Dss Melanie Metternich came in the eveng & several others. We played dominos to teach Mrs Bronson. Home abt 12. | |
