30 March 1887 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Wednesday. 30th [March 1887]. Practised guitar. Mrs W. Hanson came to see me & brought her little boy my godson. I went out with Blanche in search of flowers but the man with the borrow was not to be found. So I left her & came home to prepare for lunch. Count Hatzfeldt, Mr Mitchell Henry, Blanche & Sir Henry Thompson came to lunch. At 3.30 Blanche drove with me in our carriage open. We fetched Henry on the way home from his club & went to Langham House to see Mama & Kate & had tea there. Played usual game of Patience before dressing for dinner and Henry in my bedroom. Dined with M. & Mme Blumenthal. The only person I knew there was Miss Alice Duff Gordon. A young military man took me down to dinner & I sat by an Anglicised German called Schlesinger. We took Miss D. Gordon to her home as we came home.
