12 April 1887 — Inwood, Henstridge, Somerset
Tuesday. 12th April [1887]. We left Inwood by 11 o’cl train. Maria & Rd left at 9. Dr Wiblin went by the same train as far as Salisbury. At Templecombe station we met Mr & Mrs Okeden (she née Hambro) going up to town to stay at Maria’s for a wedding. They went 3rd class. Arthur Du Cane was in the same train 2nd class. We were nearly an hour late in arriving. Home & had lunch at 4 & then I went to Langham House to see Kate & took her some flowers & put them up for her. Found that Dr Leving had just left & had ordered Kate to go away to Bournemouth. Mr Burton (Dr) also came there & persuaded Kate that she must go. Home & rested & Henry & I had a game of patience before dressing for dinner. We dined at 50 Albemarle St with the Murrays. met Canon Cook who told me much abt the ld literature now being published for the SPG & how they it pays very well.
