20 June 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 20th June [1887]. The girls had their last drawing lesson. Busy morning giving weeks stores—& linen for tomorrow’s party. Made Henry 100 cigarettes. Lunch at 1.30. At 3.30 went out with Henry in gondola—first to Mrs Bronson who was out, then to Mme Hurtado who was at home & with her talked of our invitations for tomorrow & Idita agreed to come to me at 6 to see about it. Picked up Henry at the Stabto & we went to the Edens garden—had tea & arranged with Carry about the flowers she will give me for tomorrow & that we should fetch them from her house at 10 this evening. Home by 6 & Idita came & we wrote invitations till dinner time. Dined at 7.30 quite without lights. Went out in gondola—Nela rowed 3rd behind. Went to Hurtados. I went in & brought Idita out to take a row with us. Listened to music under giardinetto. Dropped Idita at her home, fetched flowers at Edens & home to bed–
