19 June 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 19th June [1887]. Tired & did not get up till lunch. Finished reading “music & morals” which I have much enjoyed. After lunch visit from Mr Malcolm who brought us “mangos” from India & Jubilee newspapers. At 5 Ersilia & Maria Cozzi called for me & we went to call on Pss Dolgorouky. The rest did not go out. We dined at 7 & then Henry took the girls to the Exhibition to hear the final Hungarian band. I remained at home—read & made Henry 100 cigarettes.
