6 August 1887 — Coole Park, Gort, County Galway
Saturday. 6th August [1887]. Instead of getting up at 7.30 as usual & writing before breakfast I remained in bed till 10.30 breakfast. Finished my sketch in the drawing room before lunch. Mr Henry Doyle left Coole today much to everybody’s regret. After lunch I lazed away the day on the divan in the drawing room—reading, working & dozing. Mr Gough called. Took a little stroll with Augusta but it was showery & we could not go far. Mr O’Hara returned to his home.
