29 August 1887 — Garry Hill, Bagenalstown, County Carlow | |
Monday. 29th [August 1887]. Fraulein & I held a lace school in the hall. We had several girls with their bobbins & cushions & instructed them. There were about 6 of them all taught by Fraulein & Blanche. Afternoon in order to keep Blanche’s birthday wh was on 25th we went a picnic in the woods & Miss Watson a neighbour went with us. We made a fire & boiled the water & brought home ivys & ferns. The baby Bertie went with us & enjoyed his first freedom from the nursery. A neighbour’s daughter Miss Watson accompanied us. | |
