30 August 1887 — Garry Hill, Bagenalstown, County Carlow
Tuesday. 30th August [1887]. We had the girls to learn lace all the morning till lunch time. Afterwards Blanche drove us over to a neighbour Mrs Beresford where we played lawn tennis & had tea. Mrs Beresford is a widow with a large family all just growing up. She has a nice house with very pretty grounds. It was showery & our tennis was interrupted by rain now & then.
