20 October 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 20th October [1887]. I intended having a long sitting for Kate’s bust but was prevented. The dressmaker came, Kate & I went into the kitchen to learn to make pastry &c &c & so the time passed away. It was lovely weather & after lunch Henry took Kate, Mama & Miss Maxwell off to the Armenian Convent & I had a quiet afternoon & rested in my room till tea– As we were putting in our double windows I could not receive at tea time & so we had tea in the studio & I then practised the guitar till dinner. Patience in the evening & to bed by 11.
