22 October 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 22nd [October 1887]. Lace lesson. After lunch had the choir practise to which Miss Menzies came to play the organ. In the midst of it arrived Css Pisani to see me– She has come to town for a few days. When she was gone & the practise over Kate & I walked off to call on Mme Hurtado who is to leave tomorrow & takes Idita to Paris to buy her trousseau for her marriage with Marchese Bentivoglio l’Arragina. We walked straight back to our 5 oclock tea. Mrs Brown & her son & Mr Edward Clifford an artist staying with them dined with us. Also Mr Theo Marzials the musical composer who made himself very pleasant & was as strange as ever. Kate liked him very much.
