5 November 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 5th November [1887]. After lunch Kate & I walked to the Piazza & Mama & Henry joined us there in the gondola & then we all went to visit Jesurum’s lace establishment. He has a govt school of about 60 girls and has besides numberless rooms where he sells every kind of lace &c. The 2 brothers Jesurum were at home & shewed us every thing & were very polite. Mama walked back with us home & Henry went alone in the gondola. We came by the iron bridge & got home abt 5. Count & Countess Canevaro & Mlle Cozzi dined with us & also Mr Brown. We had no music. | |
