2 December 1887 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 2nd December [1887]. I had a nice letter from Cn Pss hopeful about her husband but still very sad tho’ she says his general health is good. She says she is sending a pack of old cards for my mother. I modelled all the morning & Ola read to me a bit. She went out at 11.30 to try & see the Trevelyan girls. Trombini called & I settled for him to give Ola music lessons twice a week. Mr Brown came & asked us to give him lunch wh we did gladly. Henry took Ola by steamer to the Lido for a walk. I was just going out when Capt. Kirk called & then Bss Oesterreicher. At last I got out & went to see Ninina. From there I went to leave cards & to fetch Ola & Henry home from the Riva degli Schiavoni & home to T. Ersilia Canevaro came. Dined 7.30. Patience.
