16 January 1888 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 16th [January 1888]. I stayed in bed late to rest. Did not go out. Ola & Raymond went to buy ribbons &c for the cotillion for the dance of this evening. We had the long hall entirely cleared as we heard that a great many people meant to come—& they came & we had a very lively evening & dancing was kept up till nearly 4. Unluckily Henry’s cold was bad & he went to bed early. | |
