29 January 1888 — Genoa | |
Sunday. 29th [January 1888]. Woke with a bad headache & remained in bed till it was time to get up & leave by 1 o’cl train for Pisa. I was better & able to go. We had a great bother at the station for we found that my bonnet box had been broken open & my spanish blonde mantillas & 2 fans had been stolen. Henry denounced the loss to the railway authorities—but we fear there will be no redress. We arrived at Pisa abt 6 & I had some tea & went to bed. Henry & Ola went out to see the leaning tower by moonlight. It was very cold. | |
