27 February 1888 — Naples
Monday. 27th February [1888]. The Doctor came at 10 and said he considered that Ola had got typhoid fever but as yet he was not quite certain. We moved her into a proper bed room & I wrote to Maria about her. After 12 I went up to see Mrs Watts & then we lunched all together in the table d’hôte room & the Watts came for coffee into our sitting room & had a chat. Ola remained in bed. At 2 Henry & I went for a walk & met Capt. Kirk who told us that Lord Rowton was staying at the Nobile so we went there & left cards for him & then walked back to the Bristol. Mr Wallop left for Greece so Mr Newdigate dined with us at 8. Played patience. Gigia slept near Ola.
