26 March 1888 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 26th March [1888]. Miss Mackenzie left for Rome as Ola is pronounced to be on the high road to recovery. Mr Malcolm came over to see Ola. I sat with her in the afternoon. Audrey Trevelyan came to play the guitar with me & remained to luncheon. Mr Malcolm, Mr Marzials & Mr Sillence dined with us. I had the tailor to come here to measure Mr Marzials before we sat down to dinner as he wanted to have an evening suit & could not be bothered to go to the tailor to be measure– He was very docile & stood it cheerfully. | |
