13 April 1888 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 13th April [1888]. Busy morning packing & arranging many things with different people. There has been a great row in the house amongst the servants & yesterday I gave Gigia my maid warning to quit as she is so illnatured to the cook. But she cried & implored & worried so that I allowed her to stay for a time. Ola went out in the morng alone in gondola. After lunch I & Henry went out to the Trevelyans to bid them goodbye. A lot of people came to tea to say goodbye—amongst them Olga Mocenigo & Idita. Mr Malcolm dined with us & Marzials came in the evening.
