17 May 1888 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Thursday. 17th [May 1888]. Fred came & dined with us & talked over our Norwegian plans. Drove out with Kate, Henry & Fred & went to Bernards to order our fishing tackle. I went to Ford’s to order fishing boots & then Kate, Henry & I went to the Italian Exn & walked abt for a little while. Dined with Lord Selborne & Lady Sophia Palmer—a small party Sir Arthur & Mrs Gordon, Lord & Lady Balfour, the Archbishop of Canterbury & Mrs Benson & the Gregorys. I sat next the Archbishop & Ld Balfour took me in. | |
