20 May 1888 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Sunday. 20th [May 1888]. Kate took me off to the service at St Paul’s at 10.30 & it was 1.45 before we came out of church. There was the usual choral service & Litany & choral communion. The music was very beautiful but I was very tired. We got home just in time for lunch. Sat still all the afternoon. Had a visit fm Sir Henry Thompson. Just after tea Kate & I took a walk in the Park to see the Whitsun holiday makers. The tulips were out, it was fine weather and there were quantities of people sitting out.
