Thursday. 24th [May 1888]. Kate & I went out for a morning prowl, shopping & came home very tired. Lady Sophia Palmer & Miss Portet came to lunch & Henry, Kate, they & I went to the Nat. Gallery. Henry took us first to the private offices & we saw some pictures lately bought viz Endymion Porter by Hobson & the Card players by . Cecil Alderson arrived to stay with us. Henry & I dined with Sir Henry & Lady Eliot. Mr G. Eliot took me to dinner & Sir Ed Antrobus sat by me & was very dull. | |
