4 August 1888 — Syltebo, Romsdalsfjord
Saturday. 4th [August 1888]. Laid in bed till after lunch reading & practising guitar. Leo painted Henry’s big salmon & we sent it off by a chance steamer that came in to V Consul Dahl at Molde as a present. I carved & at 6 went with Thorwald to Up Gredhus & killed 5 lb grilse & 1 lb trout. Dined at 7 & went to bed early. The others went fishing as they find there is no law against fishing on Sunday. Henry had 24 lb salmon.
