21 August 1888 — Syltebo, Romsdalsfjord
Tuesday. 21st August [1888]. Raymond went off early in the morning shooting rype. After breakfast Leo & I went to the bank & caught a few small fry for a dish & then John took me down in the boat from Syltebo to Lower Gredhus but I got nothing. We dined at 4.30. Raymond only brought home a brace of rype. After dinner Henry went to Friswold, Raymond to Bjornes, Leo to the Fjord & I to the 2 Gredhus. Rayd got a grilse & I got nothing nor Henry. I went to have a last try at the bridge & hooked a salmon. I was just going to get into the boat when snap went my line. It was rotten, so away went my last chance of a salmon. It was very trying. We went in to supper & bed.
