15 October 1888 — La Punta, Longarone | |
Monday. 15th [October 1888]. At 9.30 as the day was so splendid Mr Malcolm took Henry & the girls off to Zoldo. I had a quiet day, practised guitar & read till lunch at 1.30. I walked in the garden & picked flowers, nasturtiums & mignonette & put them up in glasses. The sun was warm & pleasant but there was a pleasant keeness in the air & snow on every hill & mountain round us. The Zoldo party returned abt 5.30 having had a most successful trip. I read aloud to the girls for a short while before dinner at 7. Patience in evening. | |
