14 December 1888 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 14th December [1888]. The piano tuner came at 8 but had not finished by 10 when Trombini arrived to give Ola her lesson. So he gave me a lesson in the harmonium instead. At 12 copied letters. Henry had a meeting of the building committee before lunch. At 2 Mr Eden came in his launch & took Henry & the girls out. I went out in gondola to pay visits but only found Mme Mimaut at home. Princess Dolgorouky & her niece called & later young Clement Metternich. Nela read aloud till dinner time. | |
