Monday. 4th [February 1889]. Busy morng giving out Stores. Painted. After luncheon had a visit from Dr & Mme Nevada Palmer. She was on the whole satisfied with last night’s reception—but confessed she had never seen such a scene anywhere since she has been on the stage. She told us her father was a Dr. Henry & I went out together & went to tea with the Edens. Received in the evening; there was no dancing but a large number of people came. | |
