10 February 1889 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 10th February [1889]. Went to church in the morning & coming out found Mrs Eden & persuaded her to come home to lunch with me & she went away directly after. I went to the Canevaros. Was told she was at home & there only found Maria. I walked thence to church at 3.30 & afterwards went to see Pss Marie Dolgorouky who receives on Sundays. There came a great many people there. I remained till ¼ to 5 when I came back in the gondola. Mme Donati called & Al Sanbury– Dined alone, quiet evening. Patience. | |
