10 October 1889 — Florence | |
Thursday. 10th [October 1889]. I woke with a racking headache & had to remain in bed all day tended by Annie Carter. Luigi Gussoni our manservant has given us warning that he will not remain with us although he has only just returned to our service & the head waiter of this hotel having offered himself (Paolo Rainoni) we engaged him. Henry & the 3 girls went to drive with Sir Domenic & Lady Colnaghi (the latter having just returned from England). | |
