8 October 1889 — Florence | |
Tuesday. 8th [October 1889]. Henry took the girls sight seeing. Sir Domenic took me out in the afternoon & we went to antiquity shops– But all our party lunched first with Sir James Lacaita to meet his friend Css Rasponi—a pretty, charming woman from Ravenna– Sir James is very feeble & has a terrible cough but is still bright & kind. He gave us Maccaroni ala Napolitaine a real Italian dejeuner. Sir Dom. gave me tea at the pastry cook & then dined at the table d’hôte with us. | |
