19 October 1889 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 19th October [1889]. I gave Nela lesson in painting. After lunch we all went on board the Austrian Lloyd “Imperatrix” to see the arrangements made to convey the Empress Frederick & the Bride & her sisters to Greece for Princess Sophia’s wedding. It is all most beautifully arranged with great taste & comfort. From there we took Donna Laura Minghetti to the Piazza & S. Marks wh she had not seen before & then home & tea in my bed room—& Da Laura taught me to tie passementerie knots for cushions. After dinner Mme Minghetti & I played duetts on the piano together. | |
