22 January 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 22nd [January 1890]. The shops were everywhere shut today being P. Amadeo’s funeral & those that were not shut had their windows broken by the mob. Henry better & got up for his luncheon & was able to write altho’ not leave the room. Mr Malcolm came to see him & we all had tea with him. After dinner Henry went back to bed & I read to him. | |
