11 March 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 11th [March 1890]. Ola’s birthday & we gave her our presents at breakfast. Eda & I worked at cutting out the new pink front of my grey tea gown. At 12.30 I went in gondola to call for Mr Malcolm & we went to the church to see how the new red curtains are getting on. Mr M. had been ill the last 2 days but was better & about today but not well. Directly after Mme Mimaut came for me to give her a lesson in guitar accompaniments & then I set to work to make a sketch for a fan wh I want to send to the Competitive Exhibition. Ct Pinelli came to tea. Henry took the girls to the opera to the first night of Faust & I drew till bedtime.
