11 April 1890 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Friday. 11th [April 1890]. Played duetts on 2 pianos with Cornelia in the morning. She went to Poole in the afternoon. I took a walk with Corise, Henry & Ivor after lunch & then went with Corise to the tennis court & watched her practise tennis & then came home to tea– Then sat with her & Elaine in their sitting room & Elaine read aloud Ruskin after wh as Ivan joined us we fell a talking & they made me tell them abt what I & my brothers & sisters used to do at Canford in our time– We sat there till dressing time. I began to have a headache & could not eat any dinner & had to leave in the middle of “blue ruin” & hasten to bed. | |
