28 April 1890 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Monday. 28th April [1890]. At home all day. Mrs Browning came to see me—looking well– M. Revel the pasteur of Valdensis church at Venice called also Lady & Miss Maxwell. Lady Lindsay later & we strummed the guitar. Henry returned to tea. Mr Scharf called also. Henry had an attack of fever & was so unwell that I went to see Mr Burton to beg him to come & prescribe for him. I walked with Nela who came to see me. Henry was to have dined at the Murrays in Albemarle St but I went instead & took Ola. Met the Knatsfords, Sir Alfred & Lady Lyall—Constance, Charlie Eliot, Dr Smith &c. I sat between the latter & Old Murray & went home with the beginning of a headache.
