26 May 1890 — Milton Court, nr. Dorking, Surrey | |
Monday. 26th [May 1890]. Whit Monday. Bank Holiday. Fine weather but not very warm– Got up late– Read—talked to Mrs Rate. While walking with her in the garden a young thrush just from the nest came rushing with outstretched neck crying to be fed. I got some bread & milk & fed it & took it up & carried it upstairs to try & rear it & gave it over to Rina in charge– | |
