21 July 1890 — Motcombe House, nr. Shaftesbury, Dorset | |
Monday. 21st [July 1890]. Woke to find pouring day. Got up late. Sat with Theo: while she painted. Lord & Lady Stalbridge came to call at tea time. Went for a walk with Henry in the garden between the showers & it cleared in the eveng. Merthyr drove over to Inwood for the day. Practised guitar before dinner. Dined at 7.30. Merthyr, Theo, Henry & Lady Westminster (aged 93) played whist. I played patience. Bed early. | |
