31 July 1890 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Thursday. 31st July [1890]. I went to see Blanche & arranged with her to take my present cook who would not quite do for us to take to Venice. Then with Eda I went on foot to Doré to try on my dress & on the way home I stopped at 9 Hollis St to see Mr & Mrs Edgar Layard & then hastened home to see Eda Alderson off to the station to return home. I went out driving & went to Miss Laking 22 Connaught St to enquire after a cook. At 4 went to Mme Pratten to take a guitar lesson & then home– Connie & Charlie & Lady Lindsay, Mr Burton & Mme Pratten dined with us & the latter played the guitar to us all the evening most delightfully. Merthyr arrived abt 10 o’cl to sleep here. | |
