22 August 1890 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Friday. 22nd [August 1890]. I went out in the morning to call on Mama & stayed some time talking over how she is to come & pay us a visit this autumn at Venice. Eda came to call for me & we went shopping, bought a basket for our provisions & fitted it up for the journey on Saty. Our cook Mrs Bland left us & went off to see her sister who is ill. Annie Cole came & cooked for us. Mama left London with Richard & went down to Milton House near Steventon a house they have taken for the summer. Henry better but still weak. I took him for a drive in the Park. Louis Du Cane dined with us.
