12 September 1890 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 12th September [1890]. Up as usual. Painted in morning & Virgie sat to us. Nela went out in sandolo & took Pss Victoria & Virgie to be photod in sandolo. Ola went out with the Empress to the antiquaries. Lunch at 1.30 & Mr Malcolm lunched with us. Directly afterwards Css Pisani came to see us & stayed talking a long time. Mrs Browning also called. I sent over word to H.M. that Css Pisani was with me & she sent to say she would come over to see her at 4. Prince Adolphe the bridegroom of Pss Victoria arrived suddenly this afternoon—so there was no expedition & I went out in gondola with Henry leaving cards &c. Ola went with Css Pisani & Nela & Virgie walked with Rina. The Css dined with us & Mr Moore looked in in evening. Mr Malcolm dined & took the girls out to the Piazza in eveng. | |
